Welcome to the PTA Website!
This site has been designed to serve as a resource for parents, teachers and staff regarding PTA events, volunteer opportunities and school support efforts!
|STEP 1:||STEP 2:|
Note: Registering on the site and joining the PTA are 2 separate efforts.
Please do both to help us achieve 100% school participation!!
Due Date: November 2
Due to popular demand, we decided to offer additional Spirit Wear options! We had many requests for T-shirts with the NC graphic. With the cold weather coming, we're offering long sleeve options. Also, we're trying out something brand new....socks! Now, you can show your school spirit all the way down to your toes!
All orders must be submitted on or before Friday, November 2nd. We will deliver orders directly to your student's classroom (~ last week in November).
For a list of available Spirit Wear items and to order, click HERE.
Due Date: October 31
Once again, we are selling GoPlaySave books. These coupon books are full of great, money-saving offers for local restaurants, stores and attractions. Since we did so well with our fall fundraiser, we're treating GoPlaySave more as a service than a fundraiser (although the PTA will profit from every sale). We know some WOES families really take advantage of the coupon books to save money throughout the year, so we decided to offer the books again.
Instead of sending home a coupon book with every student, this year we are only sending home an order form. Families interested in purchasing a coupon book can fill out the paper order form or submit their order online*. The cost is $30 per book. If filling out the paper order form, please submit the form, along with payment, to your student's teacher. Checks should be made out to 'WOES PTA'.
- A mobile version of the GoPlaySave gook is also available. Please note that the mobile version varies slightly from the printed book. For additional information on the mobile version, click HERE.
- Books are available for other markets; Chapel Hilll Durham ($25), Charlotte ($30) and Triad ($25).
- All orders are due by Wednesday, October 31st.
For questions, please contact WOES PTA President, Krissy Heron.
* There is a $1.20 convenience fee for paying with credit card for hard copy books.
White Oak Marathon
Registration Deadline: October 5
Last Mile Date: November 16
White Oak Elementary is excited to announce our first ever White Oak Explorers Marathon! Students and families of White Oak Elementary are invited to participate. The Marathon is structured to allow families and children - kindergarten through fifth grade - to complete a full 26.2 mile marathon at a rate that is fun and safe for their growing bodies…"one mile at a time."
For those who registered for the marathon, you can participate by walking, jogging, or running your first 25 miles through November 15th. On November 16th at 2:45pm, White Oak Marathoners (whole family is welcome) will complete their final 1.2 miles on a pre-measured course around our school. Get additional marathon information at www.whiteoakpe.weebly.com.
You should walk or run 4-5 days each week. Mark the spaces on your Running Log to show the distance you’ve completed. Your parents will check your progress along the way. When you have completed all 25 miles, get your completed Running Log signed by Coach Brady. Logs should be handed in by Thursday, November 15th at the VERY latest.
To download a copy of the Running Log, click HERE.
To help students stay motivated, Coach Brady is holding morning run days. The sessions will be held between 8:45am - 9:05am on the following days:
- Monday mornings (Grades 3-5): 10/8, 10/15, 10/22, 10/29, 11/5, 11/12
- Wednesday mornings (Grades K-2): 10/10, 10/17, 10/24, 10/31, 11/7, 11/14
There will also be two Saturday morning sessions, starting at 8:30am:
- October 20th at Apex Skate Park
- November 3rd at White Oak Elementary (American Tobacco Trail Run)
On Friday November 16th, all marathon students will wear their marathon t-shirt and official race number (which will be sent home that week) as they complete their last 1.2 miles at school while their classmates cheer them on.
Coach Brady needs some Parent volunteers to help supervise students as they run/walk during morning run sessions at school.

Artwork Due Date: October 26
Does your student enjoy drawing or painting? Dancing? Writing? Taking photographs? Making movies? Composing music?
If you answered 'yes' to any of these questions, then ask your student whether he/she would like to participate in the National PTA Reflections Program.
Students may submit original art work, in one or more of the six art categories, based on this year's theme: "Heroes Around Me". Local winners in each category go on to compete at the district/region and state levels.
